Plate Proofs are proofs that have been made of the plate (i.e. for the sheet). They would have been used to check and confirm that the plate was acceptable before continuing with the full stamp production process.

2c dark red (of 1890 2c claret).
Harradine (1987) records 2 sheets were issued (200 stamps), Scott 1940 (#140a), Scott 1960 (#144a)
2c violet (of 1892 2c violet).
Ceballos (#2270 lilac), Bartels (#209a) Palmer F (#183a light violet) Galvez (#183s light violet), Harradine records 50 sheets of three imperforate issues for sample purposes which included the 2c violet. He also records that a few sheets were sold to a Mr Arias of Manila, ostensibly for his collection. Some stamps were removed from these sheets and are known to exist with forged postmarks applied. It is also noted that some postally used examples exist. Scott 1940 (#142a) Edifil (#93s) Yvert (#118 brown-violet imperf) Michel (#144 imperf)
2c claret (of 1894 2c claret).
Palmer F (#201a) notes that 1 sheet was found amongst the remainders, Galvez (#203s, carmine), Harradine, Peterson (2015 PPJ-4), Palmer (PPJ 2019-2), Tows auction 1948 records a block of 12 with T. imprint fold between 3rd and 4th row, Yvert (#109 carmine imperf).
Note that it is possible that all 2c claret proofs originate from the scarce sheet format printing of 10x10. No evidence has been found that there was a proof of the sheet format comprising two panes of 50 seperated by a gutter, from which most of the perforated issues orginate.
2c grey brown (of 1894 2c grey brown).
Galvez (#204s, dark brown) Harradine, Yvert 2005 (#131 imperf)
2c ultramarine (of 1896 2c ultramarine).
Galvez (#217s) Harradine, Edifl (#123s) Yvert 2005 (#140 imperf)
2c gray brown (of 1896 2c grey brown).
Ceballos (#2309) Bartels (#251a) Palmer F (#222a, light grey brown) Galvez (E) (#218s) Harradine records five proof sheets were issued (500 stamps) arriving in Manila March 1896, ungummed.
Harradine attributes these ‘pale brown’ proofs to the 2c ultramarine issue (in which case the total number of stamps would be 1000), but later describes a ‘gray brown’ proof of the 1896 grey brown stamp, and it seems that these two descriptions are the same proof. Harradine also notes that very few of the 1896 proofs reached the hands of collectors in Manila; however, the 2c grey brown was one of the exceptions

5c ultramarine (of 1890 5c dark blue).
Harradine (1987) records 2 sheets were issued (200 stamps), the colour may be dark blue or ultramarine
5c green (of 1892/1894? 5c green).
Difficult to verify whether 1892 or 1894 printing.

5c violet brown (of 1896 5c violet brown). See also 5c lilac perforated proof
Galvez (E) (#219s) Harradine, Edifil (#124s)
5c blue green (of 1896 5c blue green).
Harradine records 10 sample sheets were issued (1,000 stamps). Harradine notes that in addition to other 1896 proofs came several hundred sample sheets in ‘varying values and rather gorgeous hues’. Harradine also notes that very few of the 1896 samples and proofs reached the hands of collectors in Manila; however, the 5c blue-green was one of the exceptions.
Harradine attributes these ‘blue green’ proofs to the 5c violet brown issue although it seems more likely that they were imperforate proofs of the 1896 blue green issue.
Ceballos (#2312 bright green) Bartels (#252a emerald green) Palmer F (#223a blue green) Galvez (E) (#220s dark blue green) Scott 1940 (#173a), Scott 1960 (#156a) Edifil (#125s - ) Yvert 2005 (#141 imperf)
6c red orange (of 1894 6c red orange).
Gooding, Galvez (E) (#206s, orange) Edifil (#112s) Yvert (#133 orange imperf)
6c carmine rose (of 1896 6c carmine rose).
Gooding, Galvez (E) (#221s, rose) Edifil (#126s) Yvert 2005 (#142 rose imperf)
Harradine records a ‘8c carmine rose issue with proofs in deep red’, Peterson (2005) lists this as a perforated proof of the 6c carmine rose. However, Harradine does not catalogue any 6c proof and it is assumed that it was the colour designation which was incorrectly recorded rather than the denomination.

10c dark green (of 1890 10c blue green).
Harradine records 2 sheets were issued (200 stamps)
10c bright rose carmine (of 1892 10c pale claret).
Harradine notes this issue to be of the 1892 printing (i.e of 10c pale claret) although Peterson has recorded this as the 1894 10c claret issue. Harradine (#S209a)
10c magenta (of 1896 10c yellow brown?).
Harradine indicates that 5 sheets arrived in Manila 1896 but does not clearly record whether they were perf or imperf; he records that the 2c and 5c issues were imperf and it therefore seems likely that the 10c issues was also imperf. Peterson (PPJ 2005-2) has recorded this proof as perforated.
